Marketing Society celebrated Halloween in style with our Second Annual Marketing Mix Conference on Friday, Nov. 1st! As usual, we never have the best luck weather-wise when it comes to the Mix, although we did luck out and not have to deal with a hurricane this year, but the rest of the event went off without a hitch thanks to our Mix Conference Chair, Anna Kim.
For those of you who weren’t able to attend, we started off the day with amazing speakers from our alumni of the year, Eric Ho, to our keynote speaker Andy Khubani, and finally our closing address speaker, George Pyne. There was a great turnout of Freshman to Seniors, as well as even alumni and grad students.
Nielsen returned this year, but with an interesting twist to the usual company presentation. They absolutely loved Marketing Society’s brainchild, Adversary, so they adopted it for their own presentation. Students gathered their knowledge of the trend of Neuromarketing and made group pitches for Nielsen professionals.
The panels and coffee chats were also packed with insightful, hilarious, and personable professionals from a wide range of companies. We even had a few of our own NYU Marketing professors moderate and participate in the events. Participants enjoyed the coffee chats and got a really unique experience to engage with and learn from professionals in line with their aspirational career goals. We had esteemed guests from Ann Taylor, PepsiCo, Rosetta, L’Oreal, Razorfish, Twitter, DoSomthing.org, Digitas, American Express, and Lippincott.
And, last but not least, one of the best parts of this already fabulous event was the amazing SWAG and prizes that we were able to give out to everyone who came to the Mix! Our sponsors donated some really amazing things for students to take home, from hair care products, to tote bags, to Red Bull, and playing cards. 6 lucky winners took home AMP headphones, an AMP backpack, and an Ann Taylor clutch.
This really was a stellar event, and if you didn’t get the chance to go… now you know for next year, see you then!
