The beginning of the meeting started with a quick intro by each member of the Marketing Society. It was a great way to get a sense of what type of marketing everyone is interested in and what industry they want to go into.
Jacqueline then explained the power of the world of fast and smart technology. She discussed the ideal marketing equation which includes: agencies, Marketing Mix Models, Advertisers & Marketers, and Digital/TV. This equation is most efficient when there is continuity across different forces.
BrightLine specializes in immersive interactive content and designs the apps for the advertising. She focused on the popularity and success of video media. While the market percentage of click rates is about .001%, BrightLine's click through rate is about 3.4%. Their apps are data driven and as they implement them they actively monitor the participation and click rate.
Last Wednesday, Marketing Society had its Mentorship Kickoff where members got a chance to meet with upperclassmen and learn more about the NYU Stern experience. The program is a yearlong initiative to partner up underclassmen with upperclassmen and have a peer mentorship program.
