On Wednesday September 24th Marketing Society hosted a Nielsen Panel with five current Nielsen employees, four of which are recent NYU graduates. As a global leader in information and measurement gathering, Nielsen works around the world to understand and collect data about “what people watch, listen to and buy.”
On Wednesday September 17th, Marketing Society welcomed Kathya Singh from Lippincott. Singh, a 2013 graduate from Stern, started off the session talking about branding and Lippincott's objective as a company. Lippincott started in 1943 and have helped shape iconic brands, from designing the Campbell's Soup logo design to naming Duracell. They brought to light the birth of corporate identity with identities like American Express and Goldman Sachs. They work together with powerhouse global brands like Samsung, IKEA,and McDonald's to focus on their overall brand strategy.
Words of advice: "Take advantage of your internships to find out what you like or dislike."
On Wednesday, September 10th, Marketing Society started up this new semester with their annual Kickoff Meeting. It was a packed house for the first meeting of the year!
We got a chance to meet the e-board for the 2014-2015 academic year and there was a sneak peak at some of the speakers for this semester. Some speakers you can expect at MktSoc this semester include: Nielsen, L'Oreal, and American Express!
Come check out Marketing Society every week at either ADversary on Mondays during common hour or during out regular meetings on Wednesdays during common hour! (As a plus we'll always have food at our meetings! Check out e-board member Juan posing for the camera with the fajitas we had at the Kickoff below!)
See you all at an upcoming meeting on Monday or Wednesday!
